Syngenta Crop Protection today announced that Revus® fungicide received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval for use on hops. Revus was first registered for use on a variety of vegetable and vine crops during the 2008 use season. Revus is recognized as a reduced-risk1 fungicide.
This label expansion allows Revus to be applied to hops for downy mildew prevention. The approval of Revus introduces mandipropamid to hops operations. Mandipropamid is a highly effective active ingredient which uses the proprietary LOK + FLO™ technology to allow the product to bind quickly and tightly to plant surface and then penetrate the surface quickly to provide complete disease protection.
"Downy mildew can severely damage rhizomes, shoots, leaves and cones, and therefore significantly damage crop quality and yield,” said David Laird, fungicide brand manager at Syngenta. “Hops growers can count on Revus to provide reliable downy mildew control when applied preventively and alternated or blocked with another chemistry with a different mode of action.”
