Pioneer Hi-Bred Production LP has doubled the size of its seed quality lab located near Chatham, Ontario. Staff will move into the expanded facilities this week. According to Ian Grant, president of Pioneer Hi-Bred Canada, significant growth in the canola business is the key driver for the expansion. "Pioneer is growing," Grant says. "Were expanding our research, testing and production facilities as well as our team in the lab and in the field."
Multiple accreditations enable the Chatham lab to do seed testing for a North American market, including corn, soybeans, canola, wheat, sunflowers and sorghum. The facility runs more than 100,000 samples annually, testing germination, vigor, purity, plantability and disease screening.
"Our customers have come to expect high quality, high performance products that deliver the greatest value possible," says Grant. "Quality testing is an important part of meeting that expectation."
Pioneer Hi-Bred is committed to helping Canadian farmers succeed by providing them with market-leading, high-quality products, exceptional science and unparalleled service.
