Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI) has announced that Steve Bogash, Matt Heinze and Dr. Karla J. Medina-Ortega have joined the MBI team to meet customer needs in the growing biological products industry.
As seasoned experts in discovering, developing and commercializing naturally derived technologies, MBI has created an industry leading platform of pest management and plant health products.

Bogash joins the MBI team as the technical sales manager of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions with more than 20 years of experience in marketing, horticulture and agriculture. Bogash is a published author for many industry publications, covering topics such as biocontrol, marketing, pest management and nutrition. Before joining the MBI team, Bogash worked as a vice president of marketing, research and product development for ISP Technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and horticulture from the University of Maryland.
"I am looking forward to using my experiences to create long-term sustainable solutions at MBI," said Bogash. "I have worked with MBI products in the past and have been a longtime proponent of the MBI pipeline. It's exciting to join a team whose mission is so very similar to my own."
Heinze has more than seven years of unique sales experience in the agriculture chemical industry. Heinze is also a certified pest control adviser and certified crop adviser, and joins the MBI team as the technical sales manager on the California coast. Prior to joining MBI, Heinze served as the Western region account manager at Willowood USA, and currently holds the positions of treasurer for the Plant Protectors Golf Association and co-chairman of the Ag One Foundation. Heinze is a graduate of California State University Chico and holds a Bachelor of Science in crop science.
"I'm eager to apply my sales experience to further increase MBI's stance in the crop production and turf and ornamental market segments," Heinze said. "The work here is full of innovation and I'm looking forward to bringing my fresh ideas to the table to increase adoption of substantial and growing toolbox of sustainable solutions."
Medina-Ortega is joining the MBI team as the product development and technical services manager of the Southeast. Previously, Medina-Ortega was a research scientist for the University of Florida at the Citrus Research and Education Center, as well as the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center.
Medina-Ortega holds a doctorate in entomology from Ohio State University, a master's in entomology from the University of Idaho and a bachelor's in agricultural sciences from Escuela Agrícola Panamericana Zamorano.
"I am looking forward to assisting the MBI team in continuing to implement MBI's new products in the field, expand uses of our existing products, while educating growers, our channel partners and key university researchers on the science and art of use," said Medina-Ortega.
