The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is considering an application for approval of Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha’s new fungicide active constituent isofetamid.
Isofetamid is a broad-spectrum fungicide with preventative, systemic, and curative properties for foliar and soil-borne diseases. It is a phenyl-oxo-ethyl thiophene amide and is a succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor(SDHI),which causes adverse effects on plant and fungi respiration.
The APVMA invites comments from 14 November 2017 to 12 December 2017 on whether the application for approval of isofetamid should be granted.
The APVMA is able to consider comments relating to the legislative grounds for approval, including:
• public health
• chemistry and manufacture
