Monsanto presented a project to build a new high-tech laboratory at its plant in Rojas, Argentina. The facility will require an investment of AR$120 million, and will be completed in the next 12 months, it is expected to generate 100 new jobs during its construction, of which between 30 and 40 will be from the town of Rojas, said the company.
The new building will have an area of 1,900 square meters, to improve the efficiency of the company’s processes of production.
“We have started an ambitious project to construct a modern laboratory to enhance the quality of our production, with the goal of continuing to produce the best corn seed in the Argentinian market and further consolidate our position. Those who plant Dekalb will know that they are planting high-technology seeds,” said Dardo Lizárraga, Seed Operation Leader at Monsanto Argentina.
“We are also predicting that our investment expenditure, approximately 30%, will be used on materials and services from this community, amounting to over AR$40 million,” he added.
