France approved BASF’s fungicide Futura

BASF France Agro has obtained the approval of its new versatile anti-blight vine fungicide - Futura® (dithianon + potassium phosphonate). This new fungicide could provide growers with a high performance, long-lasting and versatile solution against mildew, black rot and Phomopsis cane and leaf spot.
Futura® provides a high performance against late blight: it is registered at the rate of 4 l / ha, of the stage 5 leaves spread (BBCH 15) at the stage of ripening berries (BBCH 83). It is used as a preventive and protects leaves and bunches for 14 days.
Futura® is versatile and also acts against black-rot at 4 l / ha, at the same stages as for late blight, and against Phomopsis cane and leaf spot at 3 l / ha bud stage (BBCH 05) at the 5-leaf stage spread (BBCH 15).
The ideal positioning of Futura® is at the beginning of the season against the Phomopsis cane and leaf spot, from the bursting stage of the buds to the 2-3 spread leaf stage. Against mildew and black rot, the recommended positioning is during the period of active growth and high vulnerability of the bunches, until the setting, in the respect of the time of use before harvest (DAR) of 42 days.
