Recently, the registration of the 120 million live spores/g Bacillus amyloliquefaciens B1619 submitted by Jiangsu Suke Agrochemical was approved by Chinese Ministry of Agriculture for application for the prevention and control of tomato wilt.

The product is processed using the fermentation broth of the bio-control strain of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens B1619, which has a good effect on the prevention and control of tomato wilt.

The action mechanism of the bio-control strain lies in its root colonization at crop root, which builds up a protective barrier to prevent crops from pathogenic infection. It then secretes “antibiotics” to the worsening pathogenic environment, improves soil microbial flora structure and enhances plant disease resistance.

In 2002, the bio-pesticide B1619 was granted a patent for control of solanaceae soil-borne diseases. A latest research shows that the bio-pesticide B1619 is also effective in the control of greenhouse vegetable root-knot nematode disease.

A patent for control of nematodes has been filed. The Institute of Plant Protection at the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Science has transferred to Jiangsu Suke Agrochemical its patented bio-pesticide B1619, which has now been registered with the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture.
