U.S. corn farmers will boost planting this year to 89.578 million acres, up from the 86.482 million acres that the government said was sown in 2009, agricultural consultant Informa Economics Inc. said in a report to clients.
In March, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said the area sown would rise 88.789 million acres. Informa’s previous forecast was 88.427 million.
