Azelis recently announced it has signed a new agreement with Solvay for the distribution and sale of their range of agriculture products in Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Thailand from 1st April 2017. The agreement also covers Vietnam, which started 1st January 2017.
The new mandate covers agrochemical pillars: crop protection, plant nutrition and seed care, to meet customers’ specific needs in terms of performance, cost-effectiveness, safety and environmental protection.
Azelis already has a strong agrochemical coverage in EMEA, following the 2016 acquisition of Ametech, a leading speciality chemical distributor for agrochemical fertiliser formulations & crop nutrition. Ametech has grown substantially in recent years as a result of product range and regional expansion.
To support the growth of its Specialty Agri/Horti business into Asia Pacific, Azelis has set up a full team in each country. Ambrogio Erba, Azelis Market Segment Director Specialty Agri/Horti comments: “This deal strengthens Azelis’ growth strategy in this region. It demonstrates our commitment to expand our portfolio and build a solid team to serve the agro business, a key focus area for Azelis. The new teams have significant experience in technical sales and support of agrochemicals. The addition of Solvay’s products enhances our current portfolio and means Azelis can now offer formulators a complete package of additives, emulsifiers, fertilisers and adjuvants.”
“Solvay is excited to embark on this new partnership with Azelis. We believe that they are well equipped to address the needs of our valued Agrochemical customers. By leveraging the strength and reach of both companies, we can continue to provide the best services and product offerings together, creating more value for our customers,” remarks Valdirene Licht, Vice President & General Manager, Solvay Novecare Asia Pacific.
Azelis entered into the Asia Pacific market in 2013 and has offices in Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Continued investment in fully equipped laboratories, so far in China, Vietnam and Thailand, allows the company to meet requirements of its customers across a range of applications and industries.
