Bion Tech Inc. Taiwan’s BIOBAC WP Bacillus subtilis proprietary biopesticide strain Y1336 wins “2016 Plant Protection Product Contribution Award” in China

Taiwan’s highly professional biopesticide producer Bion Tech Inc. has added another feather in its cap with its BIOBAC WP proprietary strain Y1336 of Bacillus subtilis (Chinese Brand Name Trademarked as Tian Zan Hao / 天赞好) winning “2016 Plant Protection Product Contribution Award” in China.



The “2016 Plant Protection Product Contribution and Product Promotion Award” event was held in Hefei City in China on 20 and 21 July 2017.  The awards were given by Plant Protection and Product Promotion Committee of China Society of Plant Protection (CSPP), and the event was reported by AgriGoods Herald of China Chemical Industry News.  The purpose was to honor and promote outstanding products and outstanding individuals.  Two awards have been established:

1.  Plant Protection Product Contribution Award.
2.  Plant Protection Product Promotion Award.

“Plant Protection Product Contribution Award” is for outstanding products measured by actual bioefficacy performance upon application.  The awarded pesticide products show high efficiency and bioefficacy performance to control target pests (diseases, weeds, insects), high biological and physical characteristics, low toxicity and low risk.

“Plant Protection Product Promotion Award” is for outstanding individuals for their farm-level grass-roots service to farmers.  The awarded individuals are the promotional personnel who have been long working in agricultural frontline, their purpose is to promote premium products, and to build benchmark for branding of the industry.

This event is held annually since 2013, and many companies enthusiastically participate every year.

A series of many premium products and brands were candidates of awards this year.  This year, 104 products from 90 enterprises were awarded in this event.  There were 50 fungicides, 18 insecticides, 19 herbicides, 5 plant growth regulators, 2 attractants, 1 fertilizer and 9 agricultural machinery products.  All products were rigorously selected, including enterprise background evaluation, expert evaluation, public scrutiny, market and farmer feedback and investigation.

This year was the fifth year of the awards event whereby the core concept established in the beginning has been fulfilled, which is to honor premium plant protection products, improve pesticide industry’s image, promote pesticide industry’s positive energy and encourage frontline promoters.

The credibility of “Plant Protection Product Contribution Award” has been approved by the society as a whole, and pesticide industry.

Mr. Poju Chen, Chairman of Bion Tech Inc. said, “I am very glad to have the opportunity to attend this special event to come and receive personally, on behalf of Bion Tech Taiwan, this prestigious and honorable award given to our flagship product, BIOBAC Bacillus subtilis proprietary strain Y1336 in WP formulation.  Our BIOBAC WP Bacillus subtilis Y1336 has already been awarded Symbol of National Quality in the Biotechnology Category by Institute of Biotechnology and Medicine Industry of Taiwan.  So, this award in China is equally prestigious and a big honour for both our product, BIOBAC WP Y1336, and also for our company, Bion Tech Taiwan.  Bion Tech Inc has already been serving the Chinese farmers since the past 10 years when we obtained the biopesticide registration of BIOBAC WP proprietary strain Y1336 in China in 2006, where we have the Chinese Brand Name Trademarked as Tian Zan Hao / 天赞好.  This award to BIOBAC WP Y1336 is very special because it confirms the acceptance of BIOBAC WP Y1336 by farmers in China, and we are particularly grateful for their continued confidence and trust in BIOBAC WP Y1336.  In the same breath, I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that we have successfully also received the biopesticide registration of our BIOSOL Bacillus subtilis Y1336 in LIQUID formulation in China, and we will soon start BIOSOL Y1336 commercialization to finally bring it to serve Chinese farmers.  We are very confident that BIOSOL Y1336 LIQUID will also equally satisfy and benefit farmers in China in the same way as BIOBAC WP Y1336.”
