Brazil recently approved the registration for CCAB Agro’s insecticide/acaricide, Diafentiuron CCAB 500 SC (diafenthiuron).
Diafentiuron CCAB 500 SC is an alternative for the control of the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci race B). The plague is one of the major worries of the Brazilian farmers in several crops and has required diverse and successive applications of pesticides in recent crops.
Produced by the Chinese company Yancheng South Chemicals Co., Ltd. and formulated by Paraguayan Tecnomyl S.A. and Ningbo Sunjoy Agroscience (China), the product was registered in the country by CCAB Agro.
Diafentiuron CCAB 500 SC is recommended for the control of whitefly in cotton, kidney beans, and tomato. The product also has indication against the red spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) in soybeans, tomato, rose, kidney beans, and cotton. In coffee, it also controls the southern red mite (Oligonychus ilicis).
Besides these plagues, Diafentiuron CCAB 500 SC has a recommendation for cotton against the cotton leafworm (Alabama argillacea), the cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii) and the broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus Latus). For the latter plague, there is also an indication for control in kidney beans.
The product, with the formulation of Suspension Concentrate, was on the list of priorities established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Mapa) last year.
