By Think Real - On 10 May, 2017, China’s Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) made a reporting namely the Pesticide Registration and Import & Export Analysis at the 4th Analysis Meeting of Economic Operation in Pesticide Industry, a move to show the exports of pesticides from China in 2016.
In 2016, the export of China’s pesticides was 1.37 million tonnes, at a value of USD5.6 billion, down 9.1% and 22.9% respectively.
In 2016, the import of China’s pesticides was 39,100 tonnes, at a value of USD428 million, down 32.1% and 36.9% respectively.

From 2011-2016, the exports of pesticides from China, both volume and value, rose first and then fell. In 2011-2014, the export volume increased from 1.4 million tonnes to 1.6 million tonnes, and the value from USD6.2 billion to USD8.8 billion; however from 2015 to 2016, both declined impacted by the inventory, currency and environmental policies.
