US approves Brandt's eleven formulations for use with new dicamba and 2,4-D herbicides

BRANDT, a leading manufacturer of specialty products for the agriculture and turf markets, has announced that eleven BRANDT formulations have been approved for tank mixing with the new Dicamba and 2,4-D herbicides from Monsanto, BASF, Dow and DuPont. The approved products include four nutritional formulations and seven adjuvants that have been developed by BRANDT and tested by herbicide manufacturers following protocols and requirements set by the US EPA.

BRANDT Smart Quatro®, Flagship Foliar Nutritional Leads the Way

BRANDT’s first foliar nutrition product to gain approval is BRANDT Smart Quatro®. The proprietary product contains key macro and micronutrients that are in high demand in row crop production. It is formulated for quick nutrient delivery and mobility, as well as advanced compatibility in complex tank mix environments. BRANDT Smart Quatro has been approved for use with BASF’s Engenia™ and Dow’s Enlist Duo® with Colex-D® technology herbicides.

Three additional BRANDT nutritional products have been approved for use with Enlist Duo® with Colex-D® technology. All are liquid chelates in the BRANDT Sequestar® line: BRANDT Sequestar 4.5% Fe EDTA, BRANDT Sequestar 6% Mn and BRANDT Sequestar 9% Zn. These formulations are an excellent option for early application to get crops off to a strong start.

“I am very pleased to see BRANDT nutrition products approved by herbicide manufacturers this early in the tank mix testing and approval process,” said Brian Haschemeyer, Director of Discovery and Innovation at BRANDT. “We’ve worked hard to prepare for these market changes and to ensure that we have the right products in place at the right time. The approvals speak to the quality and performance of our products, which should give customers the added confidence to use them in new tank mix environments.” To hear more from Haschemeyer, watch the video interview at: www.brandt.co/tankmixapprovals.

Seven BRANDT Adjuvants Approved

In the adjuvants category, BRANDT has seven adjuvant formulations that have been approved for tank mixing with the herbicides.

BRANDT’s new proprietary adjuvants, BRANDT AdjuLock™ and BRANDT® OnSite™, have been approved as Drift Reduction Adjuvants (DRA’s) for BASF’s Engenia. In addition to the DRA designation, BRANDT Adjulock was formulated with a non-ammonium sulfate water conditioner. For dicamba tolerant cropping systems, BRANDT is recommending BRANDT Smart Quatro, BRANDT AdjuLock, an approved glyphosate and Engenia as a tank mix for optimal performance.

BRANDT has four adjuvants approved for use with Monsanto’s XtendiMax® with VaporGrip® Technology and XtendFlex®, and DuPont’s FeXapan™ with VaporGrip® Technology herbicides. The first is BRANDT OnSite, which has also been designated as a Drift Reducing Agent by Monsanto. The other three approved BRANDT adjuvants are BRANDT® InSpray 90, a spreader/activator; BRANDT® Torpedo®, a multi-functional adjuvant; and BRANDT A+™, a spreader/activator/drift control product.

Two BRANDT adjuvants are approved for use with Dow’s Enlist Duo® with Colex-D® technology. These include: BRANDT® Umbrella, a spreader/sticker; and BRANDT® Inhance, an ammonium sulfate based water conditioner.

BRANDT Sales Director, John Guglielmi, is excited to bring new tools to growers that will enhance their operations. “Our customers know and trust BRANDT’s proprietary formulations,” said Guglielmi. “We are thrilled to be able to offer our flagship nutritional and proprietary adjuvants for these new cropping systems.”
