Three major agricultural organizations Colorado Wheat Research Foundation, Albaugh and Limagrain Cereal Seeds recently launched the herbicide-tolerant CoAxium™ Wheat Production System. CoAxium™ Wheat Production System is a joint collaboration driven to deliver innovative and novel solutions for wheat producers in North America and beyond. It is a targeted technology platform that combines a new patented herbicide-tolerant trait and elite germplasm together with novel herbicide brands and best-in-class industry stewardship.

“CoAxium™ Wheat Production System is an exciting new brand built from the ground up with innovation, performance and grower value in mind,” stated Chad Shelton, Global Proprietary Products Director at Albaugh LLC, North America. “CoAxium™ Wheat Production System will help growers maximize their return on investment by controlling tough winter annual grasses in winter wheat. The CoAxium™ Wheat Production System is a combination of a patented herbicide trait, a new herbicide brand and a strong focus on industry stewardship.”

“This new technology was asked for and is owned by Colorado wheat farmers. Several years ago, the wheat producers of Colorado approached Colorado State University looking for a new solution to combat the grassy weed problems faced by Colorado wheat growers each year. Not only did it have to work better than what was commercially available, but it also had to be cost effective. CoAxium™ Wheat Production System will deliver on that vision,” said Mark Linnebur, President of CWRF and farmer from Byers, Colorado.

“As we continue to expand our focus on innovation, CoAxium™ Wheat Production System will establish a wider technology platform that will provide a new tool for growers in the North American cereal market and around the globe,” said Spencer Vance, President of Albaugh LLC, North America. “We are excited about working with our new partners and our channel to deliver the CoAxium™ Wheat Production System technology to wheat farmers.”

“Uncontrolled grass weed species cause huge problems for wheat growers. Not only do grass weeds create unwanted competition for moisture, light and key nutrients, the residual seeds also reduce the market value of the resulting grain crop. We are very proud to be part of this partnership comprising genetics, chemistry and growers’ experience to deliver a cost-effective solution to a perennial problem,” stated Frank Curtis, Chief Operating Officer at Limagrain Cereal Seeds.
