Brazil imported over 8,000 tons imidacloprid in 2016

Brazil imported 8,190 tons of the insecticide imidacloprid in 2016, including formulated and technical products. According to data released by the Global Agrochemicals, August was the month with more volume with nearly 1,100 tons of the product purchased abroad.
The largest supplier of imidacloprid to Brazil continues to be China with 44 percent (equivalent to 3,600 tons) of the total imports, followed by Germany with nearly 30 percent.
In the first three months of the year, Brazil had already imported 1,500 tons of the product. The result is 34 percent superior to what was registered in the same period of 2016. With nearly 620 tons, China leads the exports, followed by India and Germany.
There are 37 products registered with imidacloprid in Brazil.
