Grupo Agrotecnología and the Miguel Hernández University sign an agreement for the constitution of the Chair Natural Biostimulants

SpainThe manager of the company Grupo Agrotecnología (Iberfol SL), Ismael Riquelme Terres, and the Rector Magnificent of the University Miguel Hernández, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, recently signed the document of creation of this new Chair on Natural Biostimulants, which will lead the professor Of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the UMH, Vicente Micol.
The "Natural Biostimulants" Chair has been created with the final objective of promoting cooperation in the academic and research fields between multidisciplinary research groups of the UMH and Agro-technology Group for the promotion of research, development and innovation of products Called "natural biostimulants", as well as contributing to their dissemination.
"Academic research requires its practical application by the private company and vice versa, hence the need for their collaboration and link to develop a joint work. Knowledge and new lines of research must be incorporated into the company, in a real commitment to innovation, research where knowledge is the driving force, and an indispensable tool for economic development and its application in time ", as Enrique Riquelme, CEO of Grupo Agrotecnología, said.
To achieve the final objective of the Chair, actions in different fields will be promoted through the implementation of training and research activities, as well as the organization of seminars, conferences or other outreach activities. Within the Chair, two fellowships will also be awarded, aimed at the realization of professional practices, on an annual basis, for graduates in Agro-Food Engineering and Agro-Environmental or Biotechnology.
The Advisory Council of the "Bioestimulantes Naturales" Chair of Grupo Agrotecnología is constituted by the Vice-Rector of Research and Innovation, Manuel Jordán Vidal, the Genetics Professors José Luis Micol Molina and Juan José Ruiz Martínez and the Professor of the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Area Of the UMH Enrique Barrajón Catalán, who will act as secretary of the same, by the UMH, and the executive director, Enrique Riquelme, the marketing director, Amaya Jordá, technical director David Pérez Ansotegui and the person responsible for R & D, Noemí Herrero Asensio, by the company.
Grupo Agrotechnology, as Riquelme explained, "is aware of the need for initiatives such as the one it has signed today. This has come and has been demonstrating in its 20 years of existence, believing every day in the possibility of advancing and consolidate in a global economy, offering technology and knowledge through the products it markets, increasing added value to its customers, From a transparent, clear perspective, demonstrating its capacity to make proposals in the field of Nutrition and Plant Protection, "Naturally Efficient" and maintaining a firm commitment to the producer, society and environment.
