On the 22nd April, DuPont Crop Protection held its Citrus Canker Prevention and Control Technical Summit Forum in Nanning, as well as the kickoff of DuPont’s “fruiting nicely” program, which is DuPont’s key fruit program, aiming at providing help to professional planting bases to strengthen the combating of pest disease, improve the quality and appearance of citrus, and assure an excellent quality high yield.
Citrus canker is an important object of control in the eyes of citrus growers. The disease is caused by pathogenic bacteria, which invades leaves, shoots and fruits, and causes damage to nursery stocks and young trees, resulting in falling leaves, withered shoots and diminished tree vigor. In a worse case, fruit falls from trees. In a less serious case, fruit may have some scars which are not good for storage and become rotten, resulting in a reduced value of the fruit and loss of economic benefits.
DuPont™ Kocide® 3000 was developed for the bacterial control market, being an advanced copper pesticide which protects leaves and shoots to ensure good fruiting. The product has the following functions:
♦ Highly effective on prevention and control of canker, being easy to use and labor saving. It is a new generation copper pesticide, containing less copper and has a better activity.
♦ Safe mixing, highly synergistic with long-lasting effect on shoots and fruits; safe to cambium, good in tank mixing and no resistance.
♦ Excellent fruit retention, good cropping. Application of the product eliminates disease spots and helps to achieve high quality, thus to enable fruit to be sold at higher selling prices.
Additionally, DuPont also released its EQUATION CONTACT® (famoxadone mancozeb 68.75% WG), which provides double protection for crops with a long-lasting effect against various diseases in easy and labor-saving manners.
Li Yueli, sales general manager, South China Region of DuPont Crop Protection, said, “DuPont is prepared to take the opportunity of the launch of the “fruiting nicely” program to continue its contribution to the growing of citrus, and will cooperate closely with Chinese government departments, distributors and farmers. We will always provide growers with better product and service.”
