DuPont launches first field crop fungicide Acanto® Way in China

Acanto® Way is DuPont’s first field crop fungicide released in the Chinese market, which is a better crop protection solution for growth of paddy rice, peanut and wheat and results in excellent earnings beyond high yields.
According to Zheng Ziqin, Market and Strategy executive at DuPont Crop Protection, Acanto® Way has been developed after a year-long local research and development, specific to the Asian market. Following the registrations for peanut and wheat applications earlier this month, DuPont had obtained registration for Acanto® Way’s application to paddy rice. As such, the product is expected to be made applicable to more field crops.
DuPont’s Acanto® Way fungicide is a mixture of the Strobilurin fungicide, Picoxystrobin and Tricyclazole fungicides, where two kinds of active ingredients provide a doubled function mechanism without causing cross resistance, resulting in a stable and broad effect.
The product has functions against fungal infection in different stages, being both protective and curative. The product also has a good systemicity, surface redistribution capability and cross-layer conduction activity, which facilitates its active ingredients to be distributed amid the crop foliage quickly and evenly after application to enable the crop canopy being well protected. It has an excellent effect for prevention and control of rice false smut and banded sclerotial blight, peanut leaf spot disease and rust disease, as well as wheat rust disease.
The DuPont’s Acanto® Way fungicide, after a five-year LPD (Large Plot Demonstration), has proved to be highly systemic, protective and curative, which can ensure healthy growth in crops.
Furthermore, Acanto® Way can effectively reduce the contents of Gibberellin and Heteroauxin to inhibit the composition of Ethephon and increase the Chlorophyllous content so as to eliminate the apical dominance of crops. This facilitates growth of green foliage, a healthy stem and dwarfed plant, which eventually enhances crop health.
