By Think Real - Facing a sluggish agrochemical market in 2016, the US based DuPont had an excellent performance in Jiangsu Province: sales volume up by about 20% YoY. Specifically, the insecticide sector grew stably and the fungicide business rose rapidly.

“Last year, 2016, saw a lighter occurrence of pests than 2015 in Jiangsu,” stated Wang Lian, Manager of the Jiangsu business, “However, we had solid position in this segment – the sales volume of products such as Coragen (20% chlorantraniliprole SC), Prevathon (5% chlorantraniliprole SC), Altacor (35% hlorantraniliprole WG) and Kaien (15% indoxacarb EC) maintained stability and grew.”

Regarding the fungicide sector, the new product Zorvec Enicade (10% oxathiapiprolin OD) performed well, which contributed to the overall sales volume.

“In 2017, DuPont will improve its product line regarding insecticides for rice,” continued Wang Lian, “To date Benevia (10% cyantraniliprole OD) has been registered for rice, targeted at rice leaf roller, rice stem borer and thrips. In addition, its 94% triflumezopyrim TC and 10% triflumezopyrim (very long period of efficacy, very quick to take effect and environmental friendly) were registered in China in January, mainly for the prevention and control of rice planthopper and leafhopper, and Verimark (19% cyantraniliprole SC) is hoped to be registered for rice in April.”

This year DuPont will launch its first field fungicide onto the market, namely Fatuo (法砣) (19% picoxystrobin + propiconazole SC). Now this fungicide has been registered for wheat rust, peanut rust and leaf spot, and is expected to be registered for rice blast and rice sheath blight soon.
