BASF has launched Enervin Top fungicide in Spain for the control of downy mildew in vineyards. Enervin Top combines two active ingredients: ametoctradin (trade-marked as Initium) and metiram.
Ametoctradin belongs to a new chemical class triazolopyrimidine and acts to inhibit the breathing of the mitochondrial, leading to its death. As the only active ingredient having this mode of action, and without cross-resistance with other molecules currently commercialized, it has become an ideal tool for the control of resistances in vineyards and has contributed to giving an impetus to treatment programs.
Metiram is a multi-sided fungicide that belongs to the family of dithiocarbamates and acts by interfering in multiple enzymatic processes. It is effective on all types of mildew, such as in controlling of black rot. Its works by forming a protective barrier on the vegetable surface, becoming an ideal complement for Initium, with which it composes a high-end preventive solution with great effectiveness and excellent results, ensuring protection of the crops.
According to BASF, Enervin Top eases the works of grape growers. The activity of wax-dynamic increases the resistance to washing and improves the coverage of the surface. Besides bringing in maximum effectiveness when applied alone, Enervin Top is the perfect ally for an effective anti-mildew program.
