SGS acquires ILC Micro-Chem Inc., Canada

SwitzerlandILC is an independent laboratory providing microbiology and food chemistry testing services. The company is specialized in the analysis of raw food materials, finished food products and environmental swabs for the food manufacturing industry.
Founded in 1985 and privately owned, ILC employs 15 experts and generated 2016 revenues in excess of CAD 1.3 million.
“This acquisition provides SGS with access to the food safety testing market in Ontario,” said Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS. “It is an excellent complement to our portfolio of services across the Agri-Food value chain in Canada.”
