RiceTec this month presented the results of its new formula aimed at enhancing the productivity and quality of grain rice in the south of Brazil.
Through the unique combination of differentiated genetics, the technology combines yields, flexibility and plasticity with sustainability. “Besides a high productive potential, our products are more tolerant to diseases, primarily the rice blast fungus. Other characteristics [of the product] are the early cycle, productive stability and lesser need of fungicide application,” affirmed the marketing director of RiceTec, Leandro Pasqualli.
Pasqualli explained that the differential lies in a varied portfolio that enables the company to offer to the farmer just the right seed for his needs.
“It is an exclusive combination of seeds with unique genetics, and enhances the profitability of the rice crop. This formula gathers the seeds Inov CL, Titan CL and Lexus CL, developed to be flexible to the most diverse climate conditions. When combined, they boost all aspects of the field, giving the producer control over sanity, productivity and quality in a sustainable way.”
The sustainability of the rice crop is another worry for the researchers at RiceTec. Therefore, the seeds offered by the company also enable the producer to use less water for irrigation and less agrochemicals without affecting the yield.
“The technologies developed by RiceTec allow the producer to increase his productivity by up to 20 percent, using 33 percent less water and 20 percent less agrochemicals,” affirmed the company’s agronomist, Cyrano Busato.
Also worried about the sustainability of the crop, RiceTec relies on the 15k Project, an initiative whose goal is to guide the farmer to extract 15,000 kilograms per hectare of yield, almost double than the average in southern Brazil in the last season.
During the first phase of the 15k project in the 2015/16 season, the main product was Titan CL with yields of 13,710 kilograms per hectare in the region of São Gabriel, Rio Grande do Sul.
