According to the newly published report by BCC Research, "
Genetically Modified Foods: Technologies and Global Markets",the global production of genetically modified field and specialty crops will grow from nearly 108.0 million tons in 2015 to 121.6 million tons by 2020 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.4% for the period of 2015-2020.
GM field crops are the major segment of overall GM crop production and should grow from 107.4 million tons in 2015 to 120.6 million tons by 2020 with a CAGR of 2.3%.
GM specialty crops production will also increase from 0.55 million tons in 2015 to 1.0 million tons by 2020 with a CAGR of 12.7%.
