Morgan Seeds and Biotechnology has launched three hybrids of corn which will be high investment crops – MG 600, MG711 and MG699 – which will enable control of major caterpillars that attack the corn crops and will have tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate and glufosinate.

The three hybrids were presented at the Show Rural Coopavel 2017, held in the city of Cascavel, state of Paraná.

The hybrid, MG600, which has an early cycle, presents a highly productive roof and is differentiated mostly by the leave health and healthy and resistant culm. Early cycle MG711 is recommended as a summer corn crop and opening of the winter plating. It has a high productive potential with superior grain quality and quality culm, ensuring more safety at the time of harvest.
MG699 is widely adaptable, and has healthy grains sought after in the market. It has a productive stability for a high yield crop.

All the Morgan hybrids are available with Powercore, a technology that acts through five staked genes and, as per the level of technology and climate conditions, leads to a real increase in yield in comparison to conventional crops.

Powercore acts through Bt proteins with distinct proteins inserted with multiple modes of action allowing the ability to control some of the large plagues of corn, including the Fall Armyworm ( Spodoptera frugiperda), the Sugarcane Borer (Diatraea saccharalis), the Corn Earworm (Helicoverpa zea), the Lesser Cornstalk Borer ( Elasmopalpus lignosellus), the Dark Sword grass ( Agrotis ipsilon) and the Southern Armyworm (Spodptera eridania). The technology also offers tolerance to herbicides glufosinate and glyphosate.
