Ourofino Agrociencia acquires four brands of herbicides for sugarcane

BrazilOurofino Agrociencia has announced it has acquired four brands of herbicides for sugarcane. The deal includes Velpak K, Advance (both are composed by Diuron + Hexazinone), as well as commercial clones, Confidence and Rancho. The agreement forecasts exclusive production and commercialization of products.
Ourofino has affirmed that it was seeking to attain a position of leadership in the sugarcane sector and the acquisition will enable it more access in the market, besides reinforcing the goal of coming up with solutions that cater to producers’ needs even more.
Norival Bonamichi, the president of the company, said this was an important moment for the firm which completed six years in 2016 and seeks to touch new heights.
“Sugarcane, a key agricultural sector, always received our full attention. We have made significant efforts to present adequate solutions to the Brazilian farmers and, therefore, we will continue investing strongly,” affirmed Bonamichi.
Velpar K has been an important product in the sector for over 35 years, leading the herbicides market for the crop.
“With its proven excellence and effectiveness in controlling grasses and wide leaves, it presents high selectivity for the sugarcane, quality of WG formulation and flexibility for integrated management of weeds,” highlighted Luciano Galera, director of Marketing, Research and Development at Ourofino Agrociencia.
The new products, along with the other solutions that the company presents in this segment, have resulted in a portfolio of 18 items for sugarcane. “The acquisitions represent a milestone for Ourofino as these will enable it to offer superior quality solutions for the producers. The firm’s efforts will be further enhanced with the launch of a program of integrated solution for sugarcane, which we will announce soon,” concluded Roberto Toledo, an agronomist and manager of Herbicide and Sugarcane Products of the company.
