Bayer CropScience joins hands with CCPIA to achieve zero growth in pesticide use in Chinaqrcode

By Think Real - On 25 November, 2016, at the 32th China Plant Protection Information Exchange & Pesticide and Sprayer Facilities Fair held in Nanjing, Bayer CropScience (China) Co., Ltd. (Bayer CropScience) and China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) signed a strategic cooperation agreement about scientific use of pesticides, and called for joint attention to scientific and safe use of pesticides.
 
In the context that China is implementing the “Action Plan to Achieve Zero Growth in Pesticide Use by 2020”, Bayer CropScience and CCPIA have jointly carried out 179 training activities for the scientific and safe use of pesticides, in which 10,000+ farmers participated.
 
Doctor Sun Xinyou from Bayer CropScience listed 3 measures to be taken by the company to enhance the support to China:
 
1.   Enhance farmers’ awareness about training.
 
Bayer CropScience, in accordance with the agreement, will initiate the “Train the Trainer” plan, by specifically training the high-level pesticide industry insiders based on domestic market situation; meanwhile, it will increase training of basic-level farmers jointly with the CCPIA. Since 2014, Bayer CropScience has carried out many training activities about safe use of pesticides, such as “Glove Activity”. In total, 30,000 pairs of chemical gloves, 50,000 pairs of just-for-once gloves, and respectively 20,000 pairs of protective gloves, masks, etc., have been distributed, combined value at USD0.1 million.
 
2.   Improve farmers’ spraying technology.
 
In addition to training farmers to use advanced spraying technologies and to reduce use of pesticides, Bayer CropScience will introduce foreign made agricultural machinery for Chinese farmers.
 
3.   Initiate projects to reduce environmental pollution
 
Bayer CropScience will initiate projects, such as wastewater treating technology project, pesticide packaging recycling project, and bee protection project.
