Nufarm has informed that it has received the official registration for the use of Manfil fungicide for the control of late-season soybean diseases in Brazil. According to agronomist Murilo Borges, manager of the company, the measure opens the option of treating the oilseeds with a better cost-effective alternative compared to other technologies in the market.
Borges clarified that Manfil was a protective fungicide with contact action, formulated with the active ingredient mancozeb. This compound, according to Nufarm, presents low risk of developing resistance to fungi. “Therefore, the product also presents an effective alternative to the soybean growers for resistance management,” he highlighted.
"It is fundamental to the Brazilian farmer that he should not set aside management practices, crop after crop. The farmer should apply different chemical groups of various modes of action, thus impeding fungi that lose the susceptibility to the existing technologies to control soybean diseases,” the executive added.
He said that the integrated use of Manfil and fungicides Rivas and Monaris, equally distributed by Nufarm, allows the producer to control diseases such as Asian Rust and late-season diseases during the entire developmental cycle of the crop.
Nufarm, an Australian company present in Brazil for 55 years, sells a portfolio formed by 228 cutting-edge technology ingredients. It has a manufacturing unit in the city of Maracanaú (Ceará), besides eight distribution centers located in the states of Bahia, Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso, Paraná, São Paulo and Tocantins.
