Syngenta announced the launch of the program Lavoura Limpa, which offers information and solutions to farmers on the management of glyphosate-resistant weeds in Brazil. According to the company, the portal contains technical data and testimonials of farmers and experts on the solutions for managing weeds, which could affect up to 80% of the yields.
Available all over the country for free, the content at the address www.lavouralimpa.com.br is updated constantly by the Syngenta staff. The portal also has a resource that points to the daily financial loss caused due to the adequate management of weeds by the farmers.
"This resource emphasizes farmers on the need to have more attention for adequate management of weeds, combining different solutions that act on distinct areas of the crops affected, in order to combat the high risk represented by weeds,” Leandro Bessa, portfolio manager of herbicides at Syngenta, affirmed.
The Lavoura Limpa program, which was recently launched, is a part of the major commitment by the Sustainable Agriculture Plan of the company, which aims to increase the average yields of major crops in the world by up to 20%.
