Result of the 1st batch of pesticide inspection by China’s MOAqrcode

By Think Real - The first batch of pesticide samples inspected by the MOA include those for vegetables, fruit trees, tea trees, wheat, corn, cotton, soybeans and so on, involving 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and abroad. Totally 1,323 products were in the sampling inspection and the number of qualified were 1,213, with a qualified rate of 91.7%.
 
Summary of the sampling inspection result:
 
1.   The average quality of mixed formulations is higher than that of single formulations. A total of 1,073 single formulations were in the sampling inspection, accounting for 81.1% of all samples, with a qualified rate of 91.5% while that of 250 mixed formulations was 92.4%.

2.  The average quality of herbicides is higher than that of fungicides and insecticides. 262 herbicides takes up 19.8% of all samples with a qualified rate of 97.0%; at the same time, the respective qualified rates of insecticides and fungicides are 88.5% and 94.0%.

3.  The average quality of pesticides for corn and rice is higher than that of pesticides for other crops included. The respective qualified rate of pesticides for corn, rice and fruit trees are 95.6%, 95.1% and 94.3%.
 
4.  The qualified rates for bio-pesticides and smoke generator pesticides are comparatively low. Among 18 bio-pesticides inspected, there are 14 unqualified and the main reason is that carbofuran, a highly toxic pesticide or highly effective chemical pesticides like chlorantraniliprole and cyhalothrin was contained. Among 27 smoke generators, 12 are unqualified due to the addition of highly toxic pesticides such as carbofuran and endosulfan.
