FMC launches new agricultural commercial operations in Argentina, exits joint venture with Ruralco

FMC Corporation recently announced that it has exited its joint venture with Ruralco Soluciones S.A. FMC has launched new commercial operations, FMC Quimica S.A., for the company’s Agricultural Solutions business in Argentina.

FMC’s entire product portfolio of crop protection and plant health products will be sold directly through dealers. The company also will maintain relationships with traditional local and multinational distributors.

“FMC Quimica will facilitate our integration of the FMC and Cheminova product portfolios in Argentina. Furthermore, our transition to direct market access reflects the continued evolution and growth of FMC’s business in this market and will facilitate our ability to offer customers FMC’s broader product portfolio and new products from our strong innovation pipeline in the coming years, ” said Luiz Micelli, Latin America South business director, FMC Agricultural Solutions.

“Our five-year joint venture with Ruralco was very successful and we look forward to a new business relationship with them in this important agricultural country.

Ruralco will operate as a national distribution company and supply FMC and other third party crop protection products in Argentina.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
