The Ministry of Agriculture of China (MOA) recently published the Announcement No. 2445, saying that to safeguard the quality safety and ecological environment safety of agricultural produces, and after the permission of the National Pesticide Registration Approval Committee, it decided to adopt the following management measures on the eight pesticides, namely 2,4-D butylate, paraquat, dicofol, flubendiamide, carbofuran, phorate, isofenphos-methyl and aluminium phosphide.
2,4-D butylate: starting from the release date of the announcement (since 7 Sept., 2016), there will be no more acceptance or approval of the field test and registration application for 2,4-D butylate (including TC, TK, single and mixed formulations); there will be no more acceptance or approval of the renewed registration applications for the product in China. The registrations of the product by technical producers for the use in the overseas market is reserved and they can apply to change the current registrations to only be used export while applying for renewals.
Paraquat: starting from the release date of the announcement, there will be no more acceptance or approval of the field test and registration application for paraquat, nor applications for the registration renewals for the acceptance or approval of the product in China. The registrations for the product in the overseas market by TK producers is reserved and they can apply to change the current registrations to only be used export while applying for renewals.
Dicofol: starting from the release date of the announcement, the registration of dicofol will be withdrawn. Starting from 1 Oct., 2018, the sale and application of the product will be banned.
Flubendiamide: starting from the release date of the announcement, the registration of flubendiamide for the use on rice will be withdrawn; starting from 1 Oct., 2018, the application of the product on rice crops will be banned.
Carbofuran, phorate, isofenphos-methyl: starting from the release date of the announcement, the registrations of carbofuran, phorate, isofenphos-methyl for the use on sugarcane crops will be withdrawn; starting from 1 Oct., 2018, the applications of the products on sugarcane crops will be banned.
Aluminium phosphide: starting from the release date of the announcement, the production of aluminium phosphide products shall adopt two layers of packages. The outer one shall have good impermeability, be water proof and moisture-proof to prevent the leak of gas. The inner one should have permeability for the convenience of direct steaming. The two packages shall remark high-toxicity logo and other notes. Starting from 1 Oct., 2018, the sale and use of aluminium phosphide products using other packages will be banned.
