Syngenta has launched three temperate hybrids for the next corn crop in Argentina: SYN875 Viptera3, SYN840, and SYN860 Viptera3. The seeds utilize the Agrisure Viptera3 technology, which according to the manufacturer, is the best biotechnology for the control of Lepidopteran with tolerance to glyphosate and ammonium glufosinate.

Syngenta announced that SYN875 Viptera3 is a high potential hybrid with intermediary cycle stability, a good sanitary profile, high tolerance, and resistance to stem and root rot. It offers a higher yield due to the higher number of corn cobs produced and the consistency of the main spike. SYN875 Viptera3 is recommended for early sowing in regions with high yields.

SYN840 Viptera 3 is a simple hybrid with excellent potential and an intermediary cycle, the manufacturer noted. It is adapted to the early and late regions of sowing, and it comes with a complete sanitary package, pelleted grain, and Agrisure Corn Traits technology.

The SYN860 Viptera 3 also has a simple hybrid with excellent potential, which is highlighted by its tolerance to MRCV (Rio Cuarto disease or the southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus of the Reoviridae family, Fijivirus genus) – a major disease affecting corn in Argentina as a virus transmitted by insects of the Delphacidae family. It has a high tolerance to diseases that attack the tang and the grains, such as Diplodia and Fusarium. It is a semi-dented grain with great stability for yields and a complete health package for the average environment or high-potential environments. It is also recommended for late sowing and is available with the technology Agrisure TD/TG and Agrisure Viptera 3.
