Insecticides (India) Limited has reported 6.8% increase in operation income at Rs 304.85 crore in the first quarter of fiscal year 2016-17 which ended June 30, 2016.
Net profit dipped by 8.4% to Rs 18.13 crore for the quarter. Its net profit stood at Rs 19.80 crore in the year-ago period.
"The last two years have not been very favourable for agriculture. But we are hopeful of making a good recovery this financial year," said Rajesh Aggarwal, MD, Insecticides India.
He said the company plans to launch a series of new products to boost profitability and growth.
"We are persistently working on increasing our reach to the farmer, not only with our products but also with our awareness campaign," he said.
Insecticides India posted a revenue of nearly Rs 1,000 crore during last fiscal.
The company has formulation facilities in Chopanki (Rajasthan), Samba & Udhampur (Jammu & Kashmir) and Dahej (Gujarat). It also has technical synthesis plants at Chopanki and Dahej to manufacture technical grade chemicals.
