The launch ceremony of the new aphicide LIZUO, developed jointly by the Chinese Sino-Agri and the Japanese ISK , was held in Changzhou Jiangsu Province on July 19.
LIZUO is a novel insecticide containing flonicamid 46%. It contains acetamiprid WG, which functions quickly to stop Plecoptera insects from sucking the plants' sap. Its main active ingredient flonicamid was developed by ISK and was assessed by IRAC ( Insecticide Resistance Action Committee)to be the only compound in Category 29.
LIZUO has a distinctive action mechanism that is very effective against various aphids, including aphids with resistance to existing products. Within one hour of spraying LIZUO, the aphids stop sucking sap. The product is systemic, translocating, highly active, fast acting and long-lasting (2–3 weeks), environmentally friendly, and safe to beneficial organisms such as the honeybee.
Pre-release testing showed that LIZUO's high activity made it effective even with a low-dose application. It also has anti-rainwash properties and no cross resistance to other insecticides, such as neonicotinoids.
Su Yi, the board chairman of Sino-Agri, said LIZUO was another masterpiece developed in cooperation with ISK, following the release of their previous product, BIJING. LIZUO is a cutting-edge product in China for combating aphids. The company is confident the product will safeguard the agricultural development of China.
