EU to repeal completeness decision for aviglycine

The EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health has voted in favour of repealing the decision on a complete registration application dossier for Valent BioSciences' plant growth regulator, aviglycine hydrochloride. Valent withdrew its application earlier this year after re-assessing the market potential for the product in the EU. Aviglycine hydrochloride is sold as ReTain in the US for use on pome fruit. Valent is a US subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical.
