China's Agriculture Minister welcomes Cargill to expand investment in China

Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. David W. MacLennan, Cargill's President and Chief Executive Officer, in Beijing on June 8, 2016.
 
Minister Han noted that Cargill is a global giant in grain trade and processing. Cargill's business operation in China has not only promoted its own development but also contributed to China's modern agriculture progress, which is appreciated by China.
 
He pointed out that China is undertaking modern agriculture transformation and needs to increase agricultural investment, push forward innovation, extend agricultural industrial chain and enhance farmers' capacity. 
 
Cargill is welcome to expand investment in China, intensify cooperation with leading Chinese agricultural enterprises and participate in vocational training for new-type of farmers.
 
Mr. David W. MacLennan expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for supporting Cargill's development in China. He said that Cargill is ready to expand investment in China and further contribute to China's food security, agricultural processing industry and farmers' training, among others.
