China's pesticide exports up 1.4% in Q1 2016

According to data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, China's pesticide import and export trade value reached $1.165 billion in Q1, down by 8.5% compared with the same period last year.
From Jan. to March, the volume of pesticide imports declined 1% y-o-y to 28,000 tons, with value dropping by 7.3% to $230 million. Imports of insecticides and fungicides showed an uptrend, while herbicide imports declined in both volume and value.
China exported a total volume of 336,000 tons of pesticide in the period, up 1.4% y-o-y, while value dipped 8.8% to $936 million. The export volume and value both increased for insecticides and fungicides. Herbicide exports continued their downward trend.
