Japanese company SDS Biotech K.K. recorded an increase 35.6% in consolidated net sales to 21,345 million yen in the fiscal year 2015-16 ended March 2016. Operating income rose by 29.2% to 2,022 million yen.
Sales of fungicides were 7,346 million yen. This was mainly attributable to steady shipments of Daconil technical and Daconil 720 for overseas markets, and to the positive effects of a weaker yen.
Sales for Paddy herbicide were 6,086 million yen. This was primarily due to steady shipments of Daimuron technical in Japan and new shipments of Benzobicyclon technical for overseas markets to the U.S.
Sales of Greenery-related products & Upland herbicides were 3,476 million yen. This was primarily due to favorable shipments of Dacogreen and karbutilate technical in Japan and Dacthal technical for overseas markets.
Sales for insecticide were 3,227 million yen. This was mainly due to favorable shipments of D-D technical in Japan and nemamort for overseas markets, as a result of eliminating distribution inventory.
Other business sales were 1,209 million yen. This was primarily due to a decrease of shipments of our consolidated subsidiary’s functional fertilizer, as a result of unfavorable weather conditions in India.
For the full-year earnings, the company forecasts net sales are 16,210 million yen, operating income is 1,460 million yen, ordinary income is 1,220 million yen, and net income attributable to owners of parent is 820 million yen.
