Cryptex®, a Cryptophlebia leucotreta granulovirus (CrleGV), manufactured by Andermatt Biocontrol, has obtained approval in Israel in April 2016. Registration got granted to control false codling moth (Thaumatotibia leucotreta). The company Luxembourg Industries Ltd., located in Tel Aviv, will distribute the product in Israel. Applications of that specific insecticide are granted on different crops such as citrus, pomegranate, persimmons, avocado and guava.
The use of Cryptex provides excellent control of false codling moth (Thaumatotibia leucotreta), leaving zero residues and being absolutely harmless to non-target organisms. Cryptex is successfully distributed also in South Africa.
