2 thiophanate-methyl fungicide mixtures jointly released by Nippon Soda and Shaanxi Sunger

Japan's Nippon Soda Co., Ltd., and China's Shaanxi Sunger Road Bio-Science Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shaanxi Norsyn Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., held a joint press conference on April 15 to announce the release of Zaozun (45% methyl+myclobutanil WG) and Zhuangyan (45% pyraclostrobin+thiophanate-methyl SC).
The launch of the two products completes the “Norsyn Apple Story.” The new release is said to be only the beginning of cooperation efforts between Nippon Soda and Norsyn, as the two parties have expressed a desire to expand cooperation.
The core ingredient of the two new products is thiophanate-methyl, a systemic broad-spectrum low-toxic fungicide developed by Nippon Soda that has been widely used for four decades in 80 countries. As one of the earliest Japanese enterprises to establish a presence in China, Nippon Soda’s thiophanate-methyl is well known among Chinese farmers. Nippon Soda will supply the thiophanate-methyl to be used in the two newly released products to ensure product quality and particular efficacy in managing apple leaf disease.
Zheng Jingmin, the board chairman of Shaanxi Norsyn, said the cooperation with Nippon Soda in terms of technology and product development will help overcome difficulties related to plantation, food safety, and environmental issues, in line with Norysn’s consistent record of compliance. Norsyn and Nippon Soda will hold further discussions on products, technology, brands, and promotions, which may result in the release of a new patented compound.
The general manager of Nippon Soda Shanghai, Mr Koyama, noted that the company's agrochemicals sales in China were growing quite rapidly, accounting for 5% of its total sales in the global market. The thiophanate-methyl and hexythiazox compounds are very popular among Chinese farmers. In the future, Nippon SodaNisso is prepared to launch more high-quality products, including new patented compounds.
