The company will be featured among the industry’s foremost scientists and business leaders at the following events, where Cibus executives will present the company’s non-transgenic plant breeding technology, recent developments in trait commercialization, and the methods and applications of Cibus’ suite of gene editing tools.
“Cibus’ technologies and global product offerings are leading the industry,” said Peter Beetham, Ph.D., President & Chief Executive Officer, Cibus. “As Cibus moves into its next phase of growth, we look forward to our team participating in the top global biotech events alongside industry professionals who lead and support innovation in the agricultural industry.”
Cibus executives are participating at the following events:
4th Plant Genomics Congress (May 9-10, 2016, London, England, UK): Dr. Beetham will speak on Monday, May 9. Convening experts working in all areas of plant sciences, including gene editing, NGS, genomics, phenomics, proteomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics, data management and microbiome, will examine the latest NGS platforms and ‘omic’ technologies suitable for progressing plant based research.
Corn Utilization and Technology Conference (June 6-8, 2016, Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel, St. Louis, Missouri, USA): Dr. Beetham will speak during the Tuesday, June 7 session about using Cibus’ technology for commercial application. The conference is designed for growers, scientists, agribusiness representatives, exhibitors, industry sponsors, members of the media and others seeking to learn the latest developments in technologies related to corn.
World Congress on In Vitro Biology (June 11-15, 2016, Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, San Diego, California, USA): Dr. Gocal will discuss RTDS™ during the Gene Editing session on Sunday, June 12. The World Congress is an international event held once every four years and will focus on plant and animal in vitro research throughout the world.
4th Plant Genomic Congress (September 12-13, 2016, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA): Dr. Gocal will speak on Monday, September 12 on precision genome editing tools for non-transgenic trait development. Participants at the congress will enjoy presentations on the latest strategies, technologies and research techniques utilizing NGS, “omic” technologies, phenotyping, epigenetics, bioinformatics and data analysis to further plant research.
On Monday, April 11, Dr. David Songstad, Director of Research, Cell Biology, received the first-ever University of Tennessee Plant Science Distinguished Alumnus Award and led a seminar titled “Genome Editing: Beyond GMOs.” Dr. Songstad also gave a lecture in Dr. Neal Stewart’s Plant Biotechnology class titled “30 Years of Corn Transformation – What Does the Future Hold?” where he described the shift from GMOs to Genome Editing within the corn biotech community.
