Brazil plays important role in Nufarm’s global strategy

The General Director of Nufarm for Latin American, Marcos Gaio, reveals that the company is working on a list of new projects with global scope: “As Brazil is situated among the strategic markets, it will play even more important role in the global strategy of Nufarm,” affirmed Gaio.

According to him, the goal is to grow at a double digit rate in the country within the next five years. “The Cerrado is the most important area in sales in Brazil, but we are advancing rapidly in the soybean market in the south and also in other crops,” said the company’s president for Brazil, Luciano Daher.

During the next months, Nufarm will launch in the Brazilian market the agrochemical Zetha Maxx®, a cutting-edge solution for crop protection against weeds difficult to control, including those resistant to glyphosate. According to the executive-director of marketing of Nufarm Brazil, Vitor Raposo, Zetha Maxx® “will be a unique and exclusive mixture, in which the development was based on active ingredients such as flumioxazin and imazethapyr.”

"It is an innovative product, developed to provide practical implementation on the application and rescue tranquility of the farmer on management of invasive plants of soybeans and kidney beans,” continues Raposo. The new solution, says the executive, is in registration phase at the Brazilian regulatory agencies.

In the fiscal year ended in July of 2015, Nufarm has moved to US$ 2.07 billion in sales with South America accounting for 27% of this amount.
