Mesa Tech International Inc recently saw its insecticide Mesa Meirui (active ingredient tolfenpyrad) registered in China. Besides the tolfenpyrad technical, Mesa also obtained registration for tolfenpyrad 30% SC, to be used for the prevention and control of the tea lesser leafhopper (Empoasca pirisuga Matsumura). This is the first time tolfenpyrad has been registered in China.
Tolfenpyrad is a pyrazole heterocycle agent that hinders the transfer of mitochondrial energy, leading to the death of the insect due to its strong contact toxicity. The ingredient has been registered in the United States to control thrips, Bemisia tabaci, the leafhopper, the vegetable moth, peach aphids, cotton aphids, the vegetable sawfly and the pear psylla. It is typically applied to crops such as cabbages, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, fruit, tea trees, and ornamental plants.
Mesa’s Meirui tolfenpyrad is imported from the United States. The product has a long-lasting effect, fast-action feature, wide insecticidal spectrum, and stable efficacy. Its unique adjuvant technique improves the effective utilization of pesticide, which is a positive response to the pesticide zero-growth program of the Chinese government.
Mesa Tech International is headquartered in New Mexico, United States. It was introduced to the Chinese market in 1998. So far, the company has obtained 42 product registrations in China, where its business has grown for three consecutive years since 2013.
