Swiss based company Andermatt Biocontrol has received approval for its bioinsecticide Madex® Twin, based on a Cydia pomonella granulovirus, in Spain.
The use of Madex Twin provides excellent control of two significant key pests (Cydia pomonella and Grapholita molesta), leaving zero residues and being absolutely harmless to non-target organisms.
Thus, Madex Twin offers new and meaningful options for biological control and IPM strategies.
In Spain, Madex Twin obtained approval for use on almond, pome fruit, stone fruit and walnut. It will be distributed by Agrichem Bio S.A., located in Madrid. Madex Twin is already registered in Switzerland, Australia (brand name Grandex), Bulgaria, France, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, South Africa, Ukraine, Uruguay and USA. Further registrations of Madex Twin are in process.
