The Commission of Urban Development of Brazil's House of Representatives approved the bill 1805/205, which regulates about the location of establishments of distributors and dealerships of the agrochemical sector. The proposed bill, authored by Jerônimo Goergen from Rio Grande do Sul, establishes a framework for the sector.
Goergen affirms that the goal is to give legal certainty to sell these products, besides improving enforcement. The representative explains that it is necessary to write a law that enables the resale of agrochemicals and the construction of deposits within an urban perimeter.
"There was a legal lapse that would make all the establishments close. Therefore, we are presenting a national framework that we could maintain the activity of resale, which is fundamental for the farm business,” justifies.
Goergen affirms that due to the growth of cities, it would be dangerous to isolate these establishments outside of the urban perimeters: “It will be an invitation to gangs specialized on stealing these highly valued products, because they are priced based on the U.S. dollar.” The bill now goes to the analysis by the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Commission.
