BASF's anti-fake device receives international award

The delivery of the prize will be held next May 16 of 2016 in Budapest, capital of Hungary. During last September, DAF already was prized by the Brazilian Association of Packaging at the category “Technology on Packages of Products in General”.

"We are very happy with this another recognition. The new DAF was thought to bring more safety for farmers because it makes harder to fake agricultural products. Being prized by WPO, besides being an honor, is the proof that we are on the right track investing on technologies favorable to agriculture,” commemorates Marcos Paulo Carneiro, manager of Laboratory of Packages and Arts Unity of Crop Protection for BASF in Latin America.

How DAF works

DAF presents a bimetallic hologram that use aluminum and copper in its production. With it, it is possible to see stars and spirals with 2D and 3D effects colored that vary according to the viewing angle. Besides, the use of a laser pointer allows the appearance of the word BASF shaded in a flat surface. In order to use the technology, you just need to find the best angle of projection, varying the laser direction and from the hologram to have a more effective visualization. With less luminosity and the bigger intensity of the laser pointer, the clearer of the projection it will be.
