The European Chemical Agency’s Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) has adopted 50 opinions in total in 2015 after they adopted 14 new opionions recently, which represents an increase of almost 50% compared to 2014, its first year of operations.
46 opinions were adopted for active substance approval for the Review Programme; 3 opinions were adopted for new active substances for which an application was submitted under article 11 of the Biocidal Products Directive; 1 opinion was adopted under Article 75(1) (g) on request of the Commission.
The newly adopted 14 opinions are for active substances for use in biocidal products used as disinfectants, wood preservatives, slimicides, film preservatives and insecticides. The products involved are tolylfluanid, bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain ISB06, cyromazine etc.
