Shijiazhuang Xingbai presenting patented Abamectin B2

Abamectin is a kind of macrolide antibiotic generated from S. avermitilis via liquid fermentation, which is of broad spectrum, high efficient, low toxic, low residue and environment-friendly. Abamectin contains 8 ingredients which are of structural similarity - A1a, A2a, A1b, A2b, B1a, B2a, B1b and B2b, among them, the biological activity of group B is superior to group A. At present the market available abamectin mostly contains ingredients of B1 while other 6 ingredients are not extracted for use, which exist as impurities present in factice.
Xingbai Biological Engineering Ltd has built a high-throughput screen platform and has selected a bacterial strain which greatly increases B1a and B2a but decreases group A, having been successfully brought to commercial production. Testing results have revealed a different insecticidal spectrum of B2 from B1, where B2 has special effect on soil underground nematode and animal body surface pest. In 2013, the product was named Abamectin B2 by Chinese National Pesticide Standardization Technical Committee. To this end, the formerly common name abamectin includes 2 varieties - abamectin and Abamectin B2.
The company expresses that the commercial production of B2 pure product will speed up research and development of its derivative downstream products, as well as to generate synthetic derivatives like B1. At that time, Abamectin B2 will be surely to play a role in pest and disease control for the sectors of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry with wider applications toward social and economic benefit.
