AgriThority recently announced the addition of David Sippell, Ph.D., to the company’s leadership team as Chief Executive Officer.
Sippell has more than 25 years of experience in agricultural business as an entrepreneur, CEO, general manager, marketer and scientist. He is recognized for his expertise in seed and crop protection business management, and for his technical competence in agriculture, agronomy and biotechnology.
“AgriThority is known internationally for its industry experience and service. I’m excited to work with this group of experts to develop emerging technologies and promote more sustainable industry practices,” Sippell says.
As CEO, Sippell will guide short and long term planning in accordance with the company’s strategic goals, facilitate growth through business development and resource management, and act as account manager for a group of key clients. His influence on the AgriThority leadership team will help shape the company culture and the value it delivers to clients.
“David has a broad knowledge of the agriculture industry and business administration, and more importantly, he brings excellent interpersonal skills that will help AgriThority build and foster strong relationships with employees, customers and partners in the future,” says Jerry Duff, AgriThority Founder and President. “He’s comfortable in his executive management acumen, from the boardroom to working with CEOs of large and small companies alike — as well as interfacing directly with contract researchers, farmers and consultants.”
Sippell most recently worked for Syngenta where he held a number of positions managing the Diverse Field Crop product line across seed, crop protection and seed care. Most recently he led the North American Seed End-to-End integration project. Sippell has also served on numerous boards and committees for various organizations in agriculture, most notably President of the CSTA and Government & Industry Roundtable advising the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
Sippell earned a bachelor of science in biology, a master of science in plant pathology and a Ph.D. in plant breeding from the University of Guelph in ON, Canada.
