Juan Vaquer assumed the president of DuPont for Latin America – one of the most strategic regions for the company, representing a revenue of US$ 4.5 billion in 2014.
"DuPont is passing through a very important process of transformation that strengthens its strategy in the markets of agriculture and nutrition, industrial bio-sciences and advances materials. In this context, Latin America has a critical role and has already presented growth opportunities in all of these areas,” comments Vaquer.
The executive, who is based in Argentina, will remain as president of DuPont in the country (at the position since 2009) and as vice-president of the Legal Department for DuPont Latin America. Vaquer is Argentinean and has a Law Degree for the University of Buenos Aires and a Master on International Legislation by the Southern Methodist University at Dallas, United States.
He joined DuPont Argentina in 1990 and in 2008 he was promoted president of DuPont in the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay). Currently, the executive also occupies the position of president of American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina and is a member of the board of the Council of Argentine Businessmen for Sustainable Development (CEADS) and member of the Executive Committee of the Institute for the Business Development of Argentina (IDEA). In October 2014, Juan Vaquer assumed the vice-presidency of the Association of U.S. Chamber for Latin America (AACCLA).
